Health is one of God's amazing gift to us.It is very crucial in our life.
We never think or realise it until something happens to it.
When our health is affected,we will not be able to enjoy our daily life normally.
We lost appetite, unable to sleep or perform a task and even our feeling/mind will get distracted when we fall sick.
According to WHO,Health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
This definition is so simple and hardly forgotten, but do we really understand what does it means?Physical(body),mental(mind) and social, all these three components are included and must be taken care very well.As mentioned before, being healthy is not merely the absence of disease. If we are free from any diseases it doesn't mean that we are really healthy.Even healthy and fit-looking people are not in good health when their mind troubling with something because this eventually will affect their physical health.
So,now..what is actually the focus of health?
Let me give a question for you to ponder.Ok,thinking about hospital, what comes to your mind??Is it just a place to seek a treatment or to get rid from any diseases? Interestingly,we can also get many diseases from the hospital(hospital-acquired infection). It is true that people go to the hospital to look for some treatment for illnesses they are suffering.Rarely people come seeking for health advices from the doctor or health consultant on how to stay fit. This maybe true for pregnant women who attend their regular checkup to make sure the pregnancy is well taken care of.But,that is a different condition.
Hospital is a busy place where patients get admitted and discharged every hours. We cannot merely depends on the doctors for minor illnesses and become frustrated if we do not get quick attention from them.Just bear in mind, they are plenty of patients they have to deal with. They may have to treat other patients with more serious problems that need urgent treatment.Or let's say if we have a chronic or critical health problem,we cannot expect full attention only for us because many patients might also having the same problem like us.Besides, when we get sick,we may become a burden to other people. That’s another problem. Then, what about the cost for the treatment? If we have to undergo some surgery or lifelong treatment for our diseases, then it really affect our life expenses and economy. So,we can see that many other additional problems arise when we fall sick. That's why the saying goes,'Prevention is better than cure'.Moral of the story is that we have to take our own initiatives to learn how to stay healthy and prevent ourselves from getting any illnesses.
In this fast and furious century,we are always too busy engaging at work or other activities that make us forget to check our health status. It is when we fall sick then we notice it.It is always like this;we tend to appreciate something when we are losing it.Many people care for their car,and if they just bought a new car,not even a single scratch are allowed to be there. In addition,we might send the car for a regular service.Other example, laptop. We have the Internet security installed to make sure the virus, malware or anything that might harm our beloved laptop will be removed. All these examples can be considered as ways of prevention. We adopt prevention method for some inanimate things very well, but how about our own body?Do we really prevent ourselves from getting any health problem?Or maybe we just treat the sickness when it comes.
Sometimes i think we are too proud and too confident that we are fit enough. So we do not think the possibility of falling sick.We take things for granted. We may not having some serious illnesses when we are young. How about when we reach the age of 40 or 50.Then when that time comes,we will say "How come i got this disease (or etc).I used to do a lot of exercise, and i'm fit enough when i'm young.I'm so active,"That was just an example.Actually,we know some basis but health is so vast.We might ignore some simple things but keen for difficult things. We never notice these simple things which we neglect have a very big impact for our health.

If we want to assess how much we care for our health, just answer some of these basic questions.
-->How many glass of water we have to drink everyday?
-->How many calories should we take?Or should we just take as much as we can,
as long there is no problems from taking too much of it?
-->Do we take enough natural food source like vegetables and fruits?
-->How many hours we should sleep?
-->What is our ideal body weight ?
-->What about our activities?Do they contribute to maintain a fit, healthy body?
-->What about drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes??Do we have these habits??
Sometimes even these simple questions we are not able to answer.
So,think ourselves and start to make a change now..
Two things that are always neglected/forgotten by human are health and free time..
